1339 - DE BELLO CANEPICIANO. LA GUERRA DEL CANAVESE DEL XIV SECOLO

The historical re-enactment is inspired by an event that actually took place: the 14th century "Canavese War". The conflict was fought between the Marquis of Monferrato Giovanni II Paleologo and the Counts of Savoy. The central event of the war was the conquest of Volpiano Castle by the army of Giovanni II Paleologo, in 1339.

The event includes the creation of a cultural route through the streets and courtyards of the old town, with the possibility to visit the medieval remains of Volpiano; the re-enactment of the attack on the castle, with the participation of 150 characters; the armoury and archery tournament and the creation of theme-based areas dedicated to activities and customs of medieval times.
