In an old workshop in Brianza, a highly skilled carpenter and his apprentice Truciolo, tired of the usual jobs - instead of making tables and cupboards - one day decided to build a rocking horse using the wood from a rather special plank: it came from the very same tree used to make a certain Pinocchio. Now, if you think of all the mischief that famous puppet got us to witness and the many fantastical worlds he introduced us to, you’ll understand perfectly well that something like Pinocchio - that rocking horse - simply had to have it in him. Riding it, in fact, Truciolo will be whisked away to marvellous and diverse worlds, ready to take anyone who fancies it along with him. But a wicked witch will bring him back down to earth, transforming the horse back into the original piece of wood. Here, however, comes the twist: thanks to the imagination of our young audience, called upon to breathe new life into the piece of wood, and thanks to Truciolo’s ‘providential’ blows with his stick, the course of the story is changed.
