The cultural season of Vita e Pace gets underway again with an event dedicated to music and the fusion of artistic forms: at the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Avigliana, the Geometrie del Novecento by the Trio Nigun – an ensemble made up of young students from the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano – will be performed. The concert takes the audience on a musical journey spanning different eras, styles and sensibilities, weaving together elements of folk music, jazz and experimental works from the 20th century: a programme designed to offer the audience a rich and varied listening experience, in which tradition and innovation engage in dialogue through the works of some of the most important composers of the last century. During the afternoon, works by Igor Stravinsky, Alban Berg and Béla Bartók will be performed; these composers are united by their ability to explore new forms of expression and to engage with folk traditions and the evolution of musical language.
