Palazzo Madama presents an exhibition that recounts the close connection, both material and symbolic, between white, the natural colour of silk and linen, and women. Through a selection of fifty textile artefacts held in the collections of Palazzo Madama, six of which have been restored for this occasion and fourteen exhibited for the first time, curator Paola Ruffino accompanies visitors along a centuries-old history that passes through minute embroideries, intricate lace and arrives at the most iconic of women's garments in white: the wedding dress.
