In this ‘village in the sky’, the mountain is never merely a backdrop. It is a living presence, a force that both protects and threatens, a place where beauty and danger dwell on the very same threshold. This is why Terre du Ciel finds a natural home in Rochemolles: it does not bring a story to a place, but allows the place itself to become part of the story. Its stones, its silences, its memories of resilience and community enter the narrative as an additional voice. Guiding the narrative is Giuseppe Cederna, an extraordinary performer capable of turning words into a physical and inner journey. Alongside him, the oboe of Jaime Gonzalez, a lecturer at the Bern University of the Arts, the percussion of Rossana Bribò and the accordion of Mario Romeo – young talents from the Wadi Ensemble – create a soundscape in which the music seems to spring from the very substance of the mountain: from footsteps, from breath, from echoes, from distance.
