Vertical Scalaro 2026

Three running races to mark the Feast of St Quirico in the mountain village of Scalaro: 

• Vertical Scalaro for adults aged 16 and over, an uphill-only race starting from Quincinetto: 5.8km with an elevation gain of approximately 1,150m, on a route that mainly follows the mule track of the historic GTA trail 
• Vertical Bucias for young people aged 12-15, an uphill-only race starting from Santa Maria - Cappella Alpini and finishing at Scalaro - picnic area: 2.4km with an elevation gain of approximately 425m 
• Trail for the very young ages 0-11), a 1km loop starting and finishing at the Scalaro picnic area, after passing the church in the centre of the village; suitable even for very young children and/or pushchairs fitted with suitable wheels 

This year there will also be a demonstration of the joelette used by the CAI Ivrea to enable children with disabilities to take part in the young athletes’ race.  After the races, you can stay at the mountain top to visit the splendid village of Scalaro, have dinner at the pavilion for the St Quirico dinner, and attend Mass followed by a concert by the Choir la Rupe.
