Una vita migliore. Frammenti di storie dell'Istituto per l'infanzia della Provincia di Torino

02/07/2026 - 31/12/2026

A collaborative work curated by Alessandro Bulgini that tells the stories of the native men and women of the IPI. Flashback Habitat, a center for contemporary cultures, is conceived as a maternal womb, an all-encompassing organism where everything converges: origin, the common thread linking past and present, and the home to which we return. What is changing and transforming today is the attitude with which we embrace the gift of this space, the stories of the people who have passed through it, and the very life of the place itself: the new version of the work takes the form of an auspicious gesture. The permanent exhibition features the debut of two new projects, conceived as further contributions, as new layers: Asterismi. In the central rooms, three new walls have been added, showcasing three works on the theme of motherhood, where the ancient, the modern, and the contemporary coexist within the same temporal horizon: from Fabio Bucciarelli’s photographs (2018) depicting mothers from Gaza and Lebanon, to Giacomo Moranzon’s wooden Madonna from the mid-15th century (c. 1445), and Giuseppe Gallo’s bronze Mater Dulcissima (2004). New Perspectives. This project stems from a collaboration with Tea Taramino, founder and curator of PARI—Polo delle Arti Irregolari. The windows along the hallway, once used to keep an eye on the children, are now transformed into luminous displays: they are filled with works by Girolamo Della Malva, Laura Biella, and Luca Romano, “irregular” artists who show us new ways of seeing. The works brought together in this section invite us to set aside all definitions and let the artwork itself forge its own relationship with the viewer.
