What happens when sculpture, poetry, painting and music come together? The result is an artistic journey that transcends time and speaks to new generations as well. Mario Giansone. Sculptor, painter, poet and goldsmith is an original tribute to one of the leading figures of 20th-century Piedmontese art. On stage, tenor Corrado Margutti and guitarist Nicolò Spera will guide the audience on a journey of discovery through the creative world of Mario Giansone, a Turin-based artist capable of expressing himself through multiple forms of art: from sculpture to painting, from goldsmithing to poetry. This is the story of a tireless creator who left a profound mark on Italian culture, collaborating with eminent masters of his time and producing works that are now held in public and private collections. Among his most notable works are Saint Cecilia for the RAI Auditorium in Turin and the monumental Concerto Jazz, a testament to the link between his artistic exploration and the world of music. The programme features musical compositions inspired by the figure of Giansone and a sonic exploration that highlights the heritage of Italy’s regional and minority languages. The texts indeed span different territories and cultures: from Calabrian to Valdostan Titsch, from Neapolitan to Occitan, right through to Salento Griko and Arbëreshë. An opportunity to hear rare sounds, discover little-known linguistic identities and reflect on the value of cultural diversity through art. To enhance the experience of this day, and running until September 2026, the exhibition The Silence of Portraits brings together works by contemporary artists Daniela Bruno, Alessia Cagnotto, Davide Camattari, Daniela Capasso, Patrizia Pantieri and Salvatore Sardo. Through a variety of techniques and styles, the artists bring to life works capable of evoking emotions, stimulating curiosity and creating a dialogue between art, personal experience and the imagination.
