Atlante orientale

An Italian story of exploration, discovery and scientific research, interwoven with the expeditions of adventurers, geographers and mountaineers from all over the world – mainly from Great Britain – drawn by the mysteries of the Himalayan region.  Drawing on original materials from the Museum and the CAI Library, Atlante orientale recounts not only the conquest of unknown mountains and territories, but also the building of a body of geographical, scientific and cultural knowledge that helped to redefine the relationship between Europe and the great mountains of Asia.
