Chapiteau Memoir is an artistic-relational project that uses the language of contemporary circus as a tool to stimulate memory, build relationships, and foster mutual recognition within settings of vulnerability. The journey comes to life inside care facilities - such as nursing homes, disability services, and mental health centers - moving through rooms, wards, and everyday spaces before progressively opening outward and culminating in a final performance under the circus tent. The artists become contemporary storytellers: they gather memories, old-fashioned games, life fragments, and forgotten gestures, transforming the fragile balance of memory into a poetic and shared experience. Through play, movement, and the language of the circus, the project highlights autobiographical storytelling and stimulates imagination, active participation, and connection, involving even bedridden individuals or those with reduced mobility. Chapiteau Memoir promotes an artistic experience that is not merely spectacular but deeply human, capable of creating connections among residents, healthcare staff, educators, and the community.
