La canzone della foresta

A true story of women, forests and courage: a delicate tale set in Val Chisone at the end of the 19th century, when the inhabitants of a small hamlet - especially the women - manage to stop the felling of the centuries-old larch forest that protects the village. La canzone della foresta (The Song of the Forest) is a theatrical reading written and performed by Irene Borgna. Twenty-six original watercolours by Silvia Benetollo give shape and colour to the story, using the traditional Japanese technique of Kamishibai, or “paper theatre”.
