Why did our grandparents have better handwriting than us? The answer is simple: because beautiful writing used to be a school subject. The workshop offers a typical “lesson in good writing” in an evocative early 20th-century classroom: sitting at period desks, surrounded by nibs, inkwells, ink and blotting paper, participants will become perfect pupils of the past. All this without forgetting the rules of posture, manual dexterity and the expected “ritual”. The workshop, aimed at adults and children aged 6 and over, takes place every Saturday in February. Before or after the activity, you can take part in a guided tour of the School Museum, at 3.30 pm or 5.30 pm, for an additional fee.
