VALSUSA FILMFEST 2024

12/04/2024 - 31/05/2024

The 28th edition of the Valsusa Filmfest, a movie and cultural festival on the themes of historical memory, the mountains, the environment and social inclusion, will take place between 12 April and 14 May 2024: 21 events in 7 municipalities of the Susa Valley - Almese, Avigliana, Bussoleno, Condove, Sant’Ambrogio di Torino, Venaus, Villar Dora - and 2 in Torino, on 25 April at the Diffuse Museum of the Resistance and on 10 May at the Book Fair.
The theme of this edition is “We could all then hope for a better world. Shall I come too? No, not you”, a quotation from Enzo Jannacci’s famous song: despite the apparently humorous tone, the underlying theme is one of solidarity and inclusion towards those who live on the margins of society. The opening event - the docufilm “Enzo Jannacci. I’m coming too” by Giorgio Verdelli - and on 22 April the theatrical performance “Jannacceide” by and with Paolo Rossi are dedicated to Jannacci himself.
There are three special events: Peter Freestone, Freddie Mercury’s assistant (13 April); a tribute to Michela Murgia with Maura Gancitano and Andrea Colamedici (4 May); screening of “Lubo” presented by the movie director Giorgio Diritti (14 May). Among the guests: Vauro (14 April) and Ettore Bassi (3 May) with the show “The Mayor Pescatore”.
