UN DELITTO INSOLUTO

At the corner of Via Sant'Ottavio in Torino, entering Via Verdi, it is easy to notice a very precious wooden door, made by cabinet maker Giacomo Spalla, a master of sculpture and carving who was famous in the nineteenth century.

Spalla was a solitary man, with few friends and without vices, but he was very skilled in carving wood, in fact, he was much appreciated for his work. Although apparently he had no enemies, one day an unknown boy knocked on his door.

The young man gave his wife a package telling her that it was from the pharmacist. When Spalla returned from his usual walk, he was surprised from the package. However, he opened it and intrigued drank the contents of the bottle, but unfortunately he died instantly.

The pharmacist denied that he had sent the package and no one could ever find the delivery boy again.
