A slice of polenta in Turin

The Scaccabarozzi House, known as the Slice of Polenta, for its peculiar shape and its yellow colour, cannot go unnoticed in Turin.

The palace was built by Alessandro Antonelli, following a whim rather than a necessity.

Thanks to its solid and deep foundations, the building managed to remain intact despite some unpleasant events in the late 1800's (including the earthquake in 1887 and the many bombings in World War II).

Over the years, it was not easy to find tenants who wanted to go to live there, so Antonelli himself went to live in the building for a few years together with his wife Francesca Scaccabarozzi. His wife's name gave the house its official name.

At present, the Polenta Slice hosts an art gallery.
