Whoever believes that to see lavender fields in bloom one must go to France is mistaken, because also in Piemonte you can find, in some areas, meadows with those violet hues. In June, in Sale San Giovanni, a small village in the Bassa Langa. in the Province of Cuneo, the hills take on many colours, from the intense violet and pink of the beautiful lavender to the bright green of the new leaves, a truly unique show.
The small village of Sale San Giovanni, which has only 180 inhabitants, has become a point of excellence in the medicinal and herbal sector thanks to lavender and aromatic herbs.
The hills of this small Piedmont village are in fact not only covered with lavender, but also hyssop, chamomile, yarrow, sage, coriander and fennel, which provide the landscape with a multitude of wonderful colours.
