L'ALTISSIMO COLLE AGNELLO

Perhaps not many know that in Piedmont you can reach a pass even while sitting comfortably in a car.

At 1000 meters above the beautiful and characteristic village of Chianale, immersed in the charming Valle Varaita in the Province of Cuneo, there is the panoramic Colle d'Agnello, which reaches the height of 2774 meters.

The road that leads to the hill, the provincial road 251, was opened to transit in 1970 and, from that moment, includes the highest road pass in the Western Alps, as well as the second most important pass in Italy after the Stelvio.

getting comfortably to the summit you can enjoy a truly breathtaking view. A glance able to expand both on the mountains of the Italian side, including the nearby Monviso, and on those in French territory.
