We are in the Church San Giuseppe in Alba, and in the space that was once intended for the choir are now a series of stunning dioramas created by Angelo Proglio from Alba.
Dioramas have a very ancient origin and "are miniature theatres, i.e., a three-dimensional scenic reconstruction placed in an enclosed space and visible only from a more or less large opening at the front”.
Thanks to the play of light and perspective that is created in the model, one has the impression of taking part in the depicted scenes.
The dioramas at the Church San Giuseppe depict the life of Jesus Christ. Starting from the right we have the first of the stations i.e., the annunciation, followed by the search for lodging, continuing thus to the last diorama on the left depicting the resurrection of Christ.
