THE CUNCA PEAR

Pera Cunca is located near Caravino, in the province of Turin, hidden among the hillside paths around Masino Castle.

According to some interpretations, this hill, which resembles a goat, was inhabited by some Celtic tribes during the Iron Age. They were probably the first inhabitants to spot this particular erratic boulder that, carried by the ice, came to rest on the moraine, in what has now become a beautiful forest of oak and chestnut trees.

The uniqueness of this stone is that there are some cylindrical cups on top of it.

We do not know the exact meaning of these cupels, we do not even know if they were used for pagan rituals or to study the constellations of the sky or to calculate the simple movements of the sun, but it is very impressive to stand in front of a stone dating back thousands of years
