THE BIZZARIA AND THE EGGS OF BELLA ROSIN

The beautiful building, called Bizzaria, was built inside the Parco della Mandria in 1860. It was built by the orders of King Vittorio Emanuela II, who gave it to his mistress Rosa Vercellana. Tradition has it that the union between King Vittorio Emanuela II and Rosa Vercellana was not only due to passion, but also and above all because of gastronomic motivations.

It seems that she was a skilled cook. Vittorio, a well-known gourmet, always demanded great attention to the dishes she prepared. Rosa, was nicknamed "Bella Rosin", she personally prepared the king's meals, giving one of her specialties her own name: the Bela Rosin eggs. The preparation of this recipe is very simple: one must chop up hard-boiled eggs and serve them with parsley and oil.
