CASTELLO POZZOLO FORMIGARO

A Medieval structure built around the 11th century as a defensive fortress for flatlands. The front entrance, from the time of the Sforzi, still has the sliding door and grooves where the chains ran and the mechanism to raise and lower the bridge. Inside the castle's 15th century wing are frescoes from the 15th century Church delle Ghiare by artists who trained at Franceschino Boxolio's school and a wooden Madonna from the 15th century.
