CHIESA DI SAN PAOLO

The oldest part of the building dates back to 1253 even though it was only completed by the Domenicans during the last century. The characteristic bell tower was erected at the beginning of the 15th century, but it wasn’t until the end of the 16th century that the thorough restoration overseen by Father Cipriano Uberti took place. The Baroque restructuring that was carried out beginning in 1792, is the work of the architect Giacomo Vincenzo Canavasso. In 1802, the church was reopened for religion with the name San Tommaso e San Teonesto.
