Under the artistic direction of concert pianist Francesco Mazzonetto - who is also the event’s founder - the Musica Regina in Villa International Music Festival returns. Villa della Regina is a superb venue for an event that has, over time, become an increasingly significant part of the summer cultural programme in Torino. The theme of the fifth edition, Visions, explores the role and objectives of the musical arts in today’s society, as well as the communicative approaches needed to reach the widest possible audience. Among the many events: • 28 June: Opening Concert based on the fusion of J.S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier and the art of Flamenco, performed by the Arte y Flamenco dance troupe • 1 July: recital for two pianos featuring Gianluca Luisi and the American Cristina Altamura, who will perform the Goldberg Variations, J.S. Bach’s greatest masterpiece • 2 July: four-hand piano recital with Cecilia Novarino and Eliana Grasso, rediscovering the great female composers in the history of music • 3 July: piano recital by Maestro Francesco Mazzonetto, who will perform the most beautiful pieces for solo piano written by the great composer Ezio Bosso • 5 July: Mozart’s Piano Concerto K 466 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 performed by the Torino Regio Theatre Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted for the occasion by Cinzia Pennesi and with Francesco Mazzonetto at the piano. This will be the first time a Philharmonic Orchestra has performed at Villa della Regina
