The Ancient Palace of the Municipality of Saluzzo is home to the Pinacoteca (Picture gallery) dedicated to Matteo Olivero, a prominent figure in Italian divisionism, including a hundred paintings, drawings and sculptures by the artist. The Ancient Palace of the Municipality, located in Salita al Castello, was built between 1440 and 1462.

The restorations have recovered the galleries on the ground floor and the terracotta decorations and frescoes on the façade.

The hall on the 1st floor, former place of the Congregazioni of Marchesato (Marquisate Congregations), has a coffered ceiling with mythological, symbolic and heraldic decorations dating back to the fifteenth century. It is currently a venue for conferences, exhibitions and concerts. The Pinacoteca (Picture gallery) located on the 2nd floor is dedicated to Matteo Olivero, a prominent figure in Italian divisionism, includes paintings, drawings and sculptures divided into four thematic environments: The era of social realism, the adhesion to divisionism, the 1920s and the working method.

The Civic Tower, built in 1462 and completed with the bell-shaped small balcony in 1556, is 48 meters high and, in defining the spaces of the high borgo (village), it was a sign of the city community and symbol of an independent force of the marquis power and religious influence. With 130 steps it is an exceptional panoramic view over the borgo (village) and of the plains up to Monviso and the Alpi (Alps).
