Aldo Illotta is a major expert in the art of making stringed instruments. He received a diploma from the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan, with a thesis on the guitars of the Guadagnini family of Torino. He studied in depth the aspects regarding the philological reconstruction of nineteenth-century guitars and specialised in the construction of the modern classical guitar. Included in his activities, in addition to the restoration and reconstruction of historical guitars and mandolins, is the construction of modern classical and acoustic guitars. He has exhibited his instruments at numerous Luthiers’ Exhibitions: from "Music messe" in Frankfurt to the "Acoustic guitar meeting" in Sarzana, to the "Festival de Issoudun" (France).
