Via Sempione Sud, 61 - 28838 Stresa (Vb)

Built in Neo-classical style in the middle of the 19th century by statesman Ruggero Bonghi, this aristocratic villa dominates over a charming landscape, with views ranging from the promontory of the Castagnola di Pallanza to the Swiss Alps. Sold in 1857 to the Duke of Vallombrosa, the villa was completely restored after 1862, when it was purchased by the Marquis Ludovico Pallavicino di Genova, whose family still owns it today. On a plateau mid-hill there is a three-floor building, to which, in 1949, the lateral storeys designed by Milan architect Tommaso Buzzi were added. Villa Pallavicino is one of the most famous villas of Stresa, thanks to the zoo included in its park in 1952 by Marchioness Luisa Pallavicino, which hosts animals coming from all over the world.
