Ecomuseo Colombano Romean

The project began in 1996 under a mandate from the Park Gran Bosco di Salbertrand, with the intention of protecting the traditions and customs of the local life of times past. The structure of the Colombano Romean Ecomuseum is formed of four macro-areas: the 19th Century icehouse near the pond, the coal mine located within the Natural Park, the hydraulic mill, once used to process grains and flour, and the old wood stove located in the Oulme hamlet. On the lake's shore is the most original and interesting section of the ecomuseum: The "smoke sauna" (smokehouse), made using the traditional woodworking techniques.
