The Centro Studi e Museo d'Arte Preistorica, established in 1964 is an institution which carries out research, archaeological and anthropologic studies on cave carvings in the western Alps, in the Pinerolo area, and in the international field. It is also home to Pinerolo’s Museo Civico di Archeologia e Antropologia. The centre is arranged in three different premises in Pinerolo: the main headquarters in Viale Giolitti 1 with three exhibition halls, the offices and the didactic section; the Palazzo del Senato, in which the memorabilia dating back to the late medieval period, and the ‘600s Sant’Agostino church which hosts temporary cultural events, exhibitions and manifestations.
