Ecomuseo del Marmo (Frabosa Soprana)
Frabosa marble was already known for its quality and versatility by the Romans, who opened here the first stone and white marble quarries. This marble has been the main material of the most important Baroque buildings in Piedmont.
The Environmental museum of Frabosa Soprana, which operates in synergy with the caves of Bossea, has the objective of reopening the old places of the quarry to visits and to safeguard traditional forms of local craftsmanship. In particular, didactic and popularisation activities are organised in the Serro quarry, which is a charming lime amphitheatre excavated in the chestnut woods in the outskirts of the village.
