A musical programme of high cultural value that aims to illustrate the vast scope of classical music through a packed programme of concerts. Symbolic is the presence of the "Simon Bolivar" Youth Orchestra of Venezuela directed by Diego Matheuz, goal of that virtuoso system of musical education as a model of social improvement created by Abreu, in Torino for the first time on 26 November. The season opens with a double concert, on 11 and 12 October, by the Orchestra da camera di Mantova with Alexander Lonquich, dedicated to five concertos for pianoforte and orchestra by Beethoven. Another pianist, Andrea Lucchesini, concludes the season on 6 June, as director and soloist of the Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini with the Coro dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and four young Italian singers. During the season there are important events with major performers: the soprano Angelika Kirchschlager, violinist Leonidas Kavakos and soloists of the calibre of Grigory Sokolov, Yundi, Yuri Bashmet and Salvatore Accardo. A special event, organised in collaboration with the Circolo dei Lettori (Readers’ Circle), brings to the stage Marco Paolini with the Rizzi-Brunello-Lucchesini trio for a very personal reading of Verklärte Nacht by Schoenberg. In parallel, the special project Atelier Giovani is developed, a space open to crossovers and an ideal testing ground for talented young people.
