Accademia Corale Stefano Tempia
Historic and prestigious Piemonte entity, among the first to diffuse the knowledge and love for choral singing and classical music, the Stefano Tempia presents a season with no shortage of elements of force, represented by the presence of prestigious soloists and conductors, with attention focussed on major passages of tradition – between Risorgimento inspiration and baroque modes – and on the promotion of talented young people. It opens with a concert of passages by Verdi and Bellini to mark the occasion of the Unity of Italy and concludes with an absolute première: Carmen Artemisiae by the Torino composer Francesco Cilluffo. The Odhecaton Ensemble is among the guests, presenting passages by Ockeghem and Desprez, and The Swingle Singers; in the talented young people’s section Marta Tortia (violin) and Angiola Rocca (pianoforte) in an all-French repertoire. Vivaldi is also presented in salsa rock at the Murazzi del Po with the “Aura Soave” Orchestra of Cremona and the maestro Sergio Azzolini, “to break down the barriers and the rituality of concertos”.
