The programme of the 44th Mostra Nazionale della Camelia (National Exhibition of the Camellia) is an opportunity which cannot be missed for flower lovers. The many different events include the tributes to Margherite Gautier, famous for the “La dame aux camélias” by Alexandre Dumas and Violetta Valery, the young star of the “Traviata” (1853) by Giuseppe Verdi with the reception for Cannero Riviera in an elegant 19th-century-style atmosphere. And then there is the exhibitive and sales market of Camellias and of floral-themed books, tasting of tea extracted from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis, a children’s gardening workshop, a philatelic exhibition, a small inner cruise around the Castelli di Cannero, exhibitions of opera singers, guided tours of the most beautiful collections of Camellias. The Giardino delle Camelie and Villa Taranto will observe extended opening hours for the exhibition.
