Etruschi: l’ideale eroico e il vino lucente
After nearly half a century, Piemonte offers a large exhibition dedicated to the Etruscans, the first cultural bridge between Mediterranean world and Celtic Europe. The choice of a venue in Asti is attributed to the discovery of a Villanovan crested helmet in bronze in the late 19th century, in the Tanaro river. The headdress is the starting point for deepening relations between the Greek and East Mediterranean and the Etruscan West, along the "red thread" of those Homeric poems that passed on to the aristocracy new ideals on life and conduct. The second part of the exhibition is dedicated to the banquet, in its various representations documented by precious table settings, furniture and eloquent images of paintings and sculptures.
