Dei Selvatici – Traditional Carnivals of Piemonte

The exhibition, of a travelling and scientific nature, has the purpose of exposing the work carried out by various regional communities for the revival of the mythical figures that are part of the heritage of folklore traditions of the Piemonte region. The wild animals are the protagonists of the Traditional Carnival where, in the bending of the day-to-day rules, the bear (or wild animal) becomes the king of the celebratory festival, by expressing, symbolically, the necessity of a return to the natural state, to the cyclic nature of life, to the ritual calendar and the pre-spring moment that ushers in the reawakening of nature.
