Fang Lijun. Il precipizio sopra le nuvole

The GAM in Torino hosts the first major personal exhibition in Italy by the Chinese artist Fang Lijun, considered one of the principal exponents of “Cynical Realism”, an artistic trend which developed in China during the course of the 1990s. Thirty works of impressive dimensions – part of the artist’s most recent production from 2006 to the present day – are ordered in terms of impact, without following a chronological order, in the museum’s two exhibition spaces: the Exhibition Area on the first floor and the GAM Underground Project in the basement. The exhibition welcomes the visitor with a strong visual impact and succeeds in reconstructing the fantastic worlds of an artist who has dedicated his life to exploring the contrasts between humanity and nature.
