Sacro alla luna

Shining, “sacro alla luna”, silver, together with gold and precious stones, has always fascinated man, representing a real status symbol. Even the Princes of Savoy were charmed by the precious metals and gave much credit to those artists who provided them with their valuable works in gold and silver. Around 200 items are on display which include coffee pots, bowls, pots, candlesticks and candelabra, sugar bowls, from public and private collections and from the Museo Civico (Civic Museum) of Torino. The exhibition is a tribute to the artistic culture of Piemonte, the excellence of jewelers who in the eighteenth century produced silver works of superb beauty.
