Chianocco - Ravine
A self-guided path departs from the right side of the square where the parish church of the town of Chianocco is located. The path is immersed in a shaded environment and takes us up to the foot of the overhanging walls of the ravine. The water’s erosive phenomena along the path are worth noting.
An asphalt street to the right of the church departs and takes us to a group of houses where the self-guided path takes off. The path reaches the summit of the Prebèc Stream’s widest section and then descends to the riverbed. The holm oaks along the path are worth noting.
Sant´Ambrogio - Sacra di San Michele
Upon leaving the town of S. Ambrogio, we follow the street that goes up along the side of Mt. Pirchiriano, named Via Sacra San Michele. We enter into a paved mule-track and continue until reaching the hamlet of S. Pietro.
After having gone through the hamlet, we follow the sign, "mulattiera per la Sacra" and proceed towards the Croce Nera Hill. By turning right onto the asphalt street, we go up to the ruins of the Tomb of the Monks where an avenue conducting us to the Sacra di San Michele entrance starts.
Ravine - Foresto
We leave the town of Foresto’s church square and proceed to the road sign, "Sentieri degli Orridi" ("Ravine Paths"). We go along the steep path carved out of the rocky wall of the old limestone quarries above the town of Foresto. Once we reach the crest, we follow a comfortable and slightly downhill path that turns to the right with a series of hairpin curves until reaching the bottom of the narrow passage where the Rocciamelone Stream flows.
